N.E. BOTHA
A.T.F.F.
why do we need a club? were all bksa members?
dont wanna put a downer on this theme, but seriously do you have too much free time, is someone lobbying a council gonna make a difference as it usually dosent, theres too few of us and too many of them so to speak.
i'm on this stance as in years gone by it never made a difference much and in some cases makes us look worse. the amount of time a certain spot gets used per month by say 10 people just aint worth it. tell me one of the iffy spots that gets used by more than 5 folk more than once a month.
we know where were allowed and where were not and even some of the places which are'nt too keen on us tolerate it from time to time as theres so few of us.
there only seems to be a problem with landbased kiting buggys/landboards and then theres so very few folk take part in those activities.
hope you take on board my comments and am sure ya'll understand as i find we have nothing to lose or gain realistically.
this is a kinda unoffcial club and always has been do we need badges to prove it? i think were fine as we are?
and im a tosser :)
and im a tosser :)
-gapsta
I second that!!!!
Even if a location has only a few using it when dealing with councils and land owners it is easier if they know who they are dealing with and puts us on an official footing. I agree that the ones using this site are like a club but not in name then maybe it would give us more strength if we were a club especially if afillated to a reconisable body. This gives the council and land owners a better impression that we responsible people that are concered with our sport.
We could loose sights right under our very noses. Been affiated with the bksa is different to been a member of. Perhaps at worst we may not see a benefit. But equally what would we loose if we had an official voice.
I know how I feel about it and im also usually sober when I post

or NORTH EAST AIRO?
not o alot of valid comments or valid critisicms posted about my well educated post.
badmouthing folk gets you nowhere but im sure this raised a few eyebrows,
there shud be a club i'm sure of that but the reasons for i'm very unsure of still.
ive seen indirect responses to the very questions ive asked on other forums, which create the same problems and the rabbit hole goes deeper.
Can i say i am absolutely behind the staff on this forum and the direction which a club may take, yet i will still remain one of the crowd having a say :)
if i didnt care i wouldnt bother posting, let the good times roll
.?
I heard whispers of this club malarky....
A dunno if Gapsta is serious or not but im with him and not wanting to upset anyone or dampen what I KNOW will have been extremely hard work, I dont like it and wont support the move at this time!!!
UNLEASH THE HOUNDS!!!
This has all been put on a back burner due to a mixed opinion we have looked into this a fair bit whith lots of good thinks highlighted we are allready a great forum of responcible people and a unoffical club
At this time there is not enough support to go forward with a affiliated club and the forum is divided in this matter as far as we can tell some belive it would be a good move as there is saftey in numbers but equally some think it will be a bad move high lighting the group of us that do kite in the area and maybe making things worse for us all with more bans to come into affect, which as the saying goes let sleeping dogs lie .WE are lucky as we have some good access to fields and beaches
Unless we all to agree on the move then it would be unfair to start a club against some peoples wishes as if we where to loose a field that would be awfull for us all
On asking in other forums if the bksa had helped much in lifting bans i got little responce and no evidence of any lifted bans so unless this forum strongly feels that it would be a benifit to us all in the future then we should hold back for the pressent time
I think and hope you all agree that we should as a forum /club continue to promote the sport in a good and safe light have valid insurance and so on and stick to the flyzones that are allready in place
If there is any change in the future then we can allways have another look at this in the future if the forum feels the need
Thanks for all the comments advice from all that have been pasionate in this lets pull together and make sure that we all keep the fields and beaches open for us all to use
Hope this all helps and makes sence and has support from you all at this time
thanks again guys
think that your making alot of sense there Chris and can i just say on behalf of us all thankyou for putting in all the hard work and research and for taking notice and acting on all opinions - you can never please all the people as the saying goes but i think you've come bloody close!
Like you say so long as we stick together as an un-official club then we can keep our spots open for all to enjoy
Ahh i always feel that warm soothing feeling of common sense in the Airo community...
respect to you guys for keeping this community alive and the hard work you put in ..... i tip my hat sirs!!!
As said earlier maybe not about keeping the beaches and spots open but using common sense where ever your flying. so that we dont just look like a rabble of loons
we will allways look like a rabble of loons thats our style
