with Lewis Wilby AJ to name a few,he also does  all the editing you

Chris airo ... When and how did you get in to kites.

Dave ...I was in a local kite shop around 14 years ago and I saw a
power kite for the first time wow I thought why not next thing I had
parted with my hard erned cash and bought myself a Flexifoil stacker
and never looked since.Back then there was pretty much no one else
around my  area flying  so it was a steep learning curve for me .

Chris airo ...Who are your sponsors mate and what are you currently riding.
Dave ...I'm sponsored by Flexifoil and MBS and i am currently loving
the Ion 4 what a beast of a kite and the Pro 90 from mbs .

Chris airo... Apart from your love affair for your Ion 4 over the last
14 years is there any other kite that you have owned that you still
have an appreciation for

Dave ...Going back old school I had a Wipika airblast 22.5m which was
a blast super floaty but that some time ago now the safety was not
that great in them days how kites have come on .

Chris airo ...I still have two of those in my shed there nicknamed
death wish one and two now  but there fun kites to fly .

Chris airo ..Whats in your kite bag apart form the obvious kites kites kites
Dave ..I never leave home without the camera it is great to document
the sport I have a background from lots off extreme sports from
aggressive skating snowboarding skiing just to name a few,and i think
its great to look back at what you have done and the great times you
have had. The guys are grate we take it in turns to shoot the footage
then i spend hours and hours editing  and hopefully you guys enjoy it
.
Chris airo .... Hell yer we definitely do.

Chris airo ...How do you approach a new trick and go about learning it.
Dave ...Myself and AJ really push each other all the time, one comes
up with a idea and then its walked through with out actually doing the
trick ,sometimes maybe we will try it with out the board taking it
step by step then try it for real but we might not get it the first
ten times but we will keep at it giving each other advice,try this,
try that, eventually we get there but step by step is the key and
breaking it down.Lets say you want to try a 360 then walk through it
in your head then try a 360 without your board and then run....
jump... and spin ... When you have got that just add the board and
practice some more this is a safer way to learn tricks.

Chris airo...Any tips for someone starting out.

Dave ...Once you have the basics and want to try a few tricks remember
to know your limits, what you can and cant do is key.Take  baby steps
do everything in small step by step , bit by bit if you try to hard
and push yourself  too soon and get hurt  you will only slow down your
progression from injury or just lose any confidence you had built up.
But most of all remember to have fun thats why we all do it in the
first place .

Chris airo..The big question any new movies to come.

Dave ...I'm working on on as we speak i have just started so a long
way to go yet but hopefully it will be out around late January its a
experiment on new riding styles you will have to wait and see.

Chris airo ...Well we will all look forward to that.

Chris airo ...Kiteboarding has gone in many directions of late such as
.big air or old school ,wave riding wake and so on whats you thoughts
on this

Dave ...Well i have done the wake stuff and although i enjoy pushing
that side of the sport. I always go back to my roots i just love the
big air you see that's what kiting is all about for me thats what
makes it all feel so right  I just  love to get a really kite as big
as i can hold down and just go as big as I can and float as long as
possible

Chris airo ...Anything else you can tell us about

Dave ...I am currently working on some tutorial stuff and
comprehensive tech tips and this will be available on DVD shortly. I
have a new website launching soon, you will be able to see snippits of
the new DVD on there .
