North Blyth
A decent beach just north of Blyth which will work on any easterly. The best part of the beach is at Cambois. Unfortinatly not many amenities but that also means it is a quiet beach and when I was there not many dog walkers either. To get there take the A189 road from the A19 at Cramlington and take the cambois turn off 2nd junction after river blyth and turn right. go straight at the two roundabouts and just 20 yards after the seconed one turn left by the houses and go under the low bridge to the parking area. Vans and people carriors will not get under. I found about 3 hours after high tide there was plenty of beach still left but as I used the paked up and walked further up the beach as I had used the wrong parking area and then found the correct one for next time there the beach had dissapered it 20 to 30 min.
The sand was very smooth and about 1/2 a mile useable and fairly hard but there was one or 2 slighty softer areas but still think would be passable for boarders. A good alternitive to going all the way up to durridge
