Arrived on a Saturday afternoon, so... rain stopped beach came back 12-16mph of lumpy wind, lets have a play.

First out of the bag 2.6VR, lay it on the beach (B*gg*r me, its longer than my 4m Blade) funky blue coloured bridle, lines on, 20m now supplied with all mine(guess they listened to the 15m line complaints) Launch, (who broke the wind, oh yeah, ME, new kite curse) still got moving tho.

Next 5.6st lay it out, line it up, launch straight up to zenith chuck it about a bit, nice, scudding, stop working it and the tips fold like a dropleaf table, WTF? What is the wind speed now??? 2-3mph AH-HAA!! that'll be why.

OK no wind lets just line them all up so when the wind comes back.....

6.2VR time, OOH!!!! pretty coloured bridle. lines on, work it to the sky. This feels nice even in nearly a gnats guff, loop, S C U D, HUH!!!!(more wind?) stop flying and down she goes(no more wind then!)

NEXT!!
8.3st, lines launch, SSCCUUDD, zenith. Hmmmm think this one likes likes nearly no wind, whats it doing now, 4-5mph. I should have got in the bug but I wanted to fly the 10.2.

open bag, Crinkle!, should that not be crackle/crispy like the others? OH NO it shouldn't HOW light is that ripstop, wow, thinner than cheap photocopy paper, another pretty coloured bridle???? look at bag, 10.2 UL VR (I didn't notice that on the invoice)
Any Hoo, lines on launch, and f**k me freddy, Scud the lines length as it climbs to zenith and kind of hover a couple of cm off the sand as it locks into the sky,
RIGHT, land it fit strop line and... and.... WILL you LAND you beasty, totally locked in, I've never felt that happen in such light wind!!! ok fly it a bit, left, right, brake turn to the left, I'm floating, need my buggy!!, you WILL land, and it did, slowly, graceful, not so much as a flutter of protest, strop line on, relauch, me in bug and off we slowly go, harden up lines and faster we go,
 I LIKE!!
turn turn PLEASE turn, oops I turned too slow down it flutters(ok, this is my first real attempt with a big race kite, and it's rather different to fly)
starting to get the feel of it, way we go, broad reach, does that gps really say 20mph? big slidey turn, close reach, why am I travelling into the wind??? turn and OH ****, NOT THAT PUDDLE YOU....... but it did.

Game over!! a bit of static flyin to dry it then back in the bag it went.

Overall impression WOW, just give me chance to try out in proper wind for them.

Sunday blowing 14-17 (to start with) 24-31 (at the end, tide stopped play)lumpy,
2.6VR Quick, agile and pulling like a pully thing. Very easy to get used to, predictable even with the lumps.
As the wind picked up it really came to life, the only thing that stopped me going quicker than 36mph was the sea getting in the way, with more wind in its teeth the upwind line felt unreal.what a kite, think I'll reach my limits before kite reaches its....

In answer to those that question, what happens if you buy both low wind and high wind kites at the same time?  for the last six weeks I've managed to curse the wind and weather!!

Take it Easy, Yeah!?
